The purpose of stability testing for personal care and cosmetics products is to ensure that a new or modified product meets the intended physical, chemical and microbiological quality standards as well as functionality and aesthetics. Because there is a wide diversity of products to target different markets, standard stability tests cannot be prescribed. Manufactures require the flexibility to modify testing protocols and to build a sound scientific basis for assessing the stability of their own products. We help the manufactures develop specific tests for the new products.
We design experiments for manufactures to test the physical and chemical integrity, which evaluates Ph value, viscosity, texture, flow, and emulsion stability (signs of separation). Test procedures include temperature variations, cycle testing, light exposure testing, mechanical shock testing, and monitoring etc. We conduct analysis based on the data collected and build models to predict how well the products will resist common stresses such as temperature extremes and light.
